About KFC Franchise

Kentucky Fried Chicken or popularly known as KFC is an America’s global food giant which is specialized in making Fried Chicken. The headquarters of KFC is located in Louisville, Kentucky. It is designated as per sales, World’s second largest restaurant chain after McDonald’s. KFC is rapidly growing its expanse with its 44,000 restaurants in more than 135 countries and territories globally. Currently, its ambition for UK and Ireland is to reach 1000 restaurants by 2020. KFC is basically a subsidiary of Yum! Brands. Yum! Brand is a food chain company which also owns the Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, and Wing Street chains.

Founder of KFC is Colonel Harland Sanders. He initially operated from a roadside restaurant in Corbin, Kentucky during the Great Depression. He sold fried chicken during those days which became so popular that he realized the potential of Franchising. Utah in 1952 had the first opportunity to open a Kentucky Fried Chicken Franchise. From here on sky was the limit for wide expansion of KFC. KFC is popular for its chicken but it did not fear to experiment by diversifying its products. It even challenged the hegemony of Hamburger. Business investors such as John Y. Brown Jr. and Jack C. Massey hold a great share in KFC till today. Not only franchising and getting new investors, but KFC also became the first American food chain to open its outlets in Canada, Mexico, Jamaica etc.
